Deirdre got into the acting game relatively late in life, in 2016, and although she has had no formal training she feels privileged to have gained several roles in theatre, television, and film, and to have had the joy of working with some extremely professional people. She welcomes the bigger challenge, not to mention the incredible opportunity, of creating new characters in original plays by some of our marvellous Australian playwrights such as Alana Valentine, Brenda Gottsche, and Luke Holmes. She has also had the privilege to appear in several award winning short films such as The Skydiver And The Scarecrow, as well as appearing in a number of television commercials..
‘Community theatre is like a drug, you feel alive whatever side of the footlights you’re on. It enriches the lives of cast, crew, and audiences alike, whatever your age or gender. It is important. It is art. It is … fantastic!’ – Deirdre Campbell
