Mark began performing in his native Scotland with his first role being Nigel Hadfield in David Turner’s play Semi Detached. His favourite production was Tartuffe which, although originally a French classic by Molière, was performed in Auld Scots. He says that even in Scotland, doing an Auld Scots dialect adaptation was something unusual for audiences.
Mark returned to performing after a long break when he joined The Guild Theatre in late 2019.
Mark has enjoyed various roles at The Guild Theatre including multiple members nights and full productions and had lots of fun performing in a pantomime earlier this year as The Big Bad Wolf.
‘For me the Guild specifically and community theatre in general has always been an outlet to balance my work life with a very different personal interest and to allow me to surprise people and at times myself.’
