An experience performer and stalwart of community theatre in the Bayside area, Peter joined The Guild in 2022 to be a part of the cast of Chase Me, Comrade! Peter describes The Guild as having ‘a rich tradition of quality theatre’ and says it’s ‘a privilege to be a part of that history now.’
He’s played a wide variety of roles and patrons of The Regals Musical Society may recognise him as anything from the agoraphobic laundress Edna Turnblad in Hairspray to the bald electric lovelorn lunatic Uncle Fester in The Addams Family. He’s also the President of the society.
When not at the theatre, Peter finds time to be the Sales Trainer for the largest manufacturer of adjustable bed bases in the world, looking after the Asia/Pacific region. He is also is a keen golfer and enjoys travel.
He learned the bagpipes whilst at school many years ago and has played in Pipes and Drums at events in Canada and around NSW for both School and for a brief period in the military.
‘[Community theatre] gives everyday people the opportunity to express themselves, showcase their talent and nurture their soul by performing alongside like-minded people. The positive effects that being a part of a community theatre production can for some be life changing. Such a positive thing in an often turbulent world..’ – Peter Sharratt
