TJ has been intermittently involved in various local and independent creative projects for almost two decades. Completing his teaching degree at Australian Catholic University, he rediscovered the enjoyment of working within a theatre ensemble within the student theatre group Thespians On the Mount. Mentored by Lyn Pierse and Anthony Wong while completing part time studies at Actors Centre Australia, he has found himself involved within an eclectic mix of classic and modern projects.
Predominantly landing himself into demanding character roles, TJ has transformed into Basil Fawlty from the award winning BBC sitcom Fawlty Towers, Mr Humphries from Are You Being Served, Judge Advocate David Collins in Robert Thomson’s 1790 – A Tale Not Often Told, and most recently as neurotic nut Felix Ungar in Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple staged by Providential Productions. He also enjoys immersing into challenging short film endeavours, most recently co-creating a ‘spaghetti opera’ comedy inspired by Bizet’s Carmen, and is currently finishing a comedy action short. He is thankful for the rewarding discoveries of playing the role of Mr Laver.
