Yolanda is currently the Publicity Officer at The Guild Theatre.
Theatre has been a passion for as long as Yolanda can remember. Both her parents were professional actors in Spain and she grew up hearing their stories and fell in love with theatre and film. She studied acting with the Australian Academy of Dramatic Arts and has participated in numerous acting workshops and courses over the years.
Yolanda also writes, delving into both poetry and short stories, but it is poetry that inspires her, enjoying the freedom of expression it allows and finding it very therapeutic. She hopes to one day write a script.
‘Acting and writing are my Nirvana.’
Yolanda became a member of The Guild Theatre in 2004. Her first production at The Guild Theatre was Morning Sacrifice in 2005. Along the way, she has portrayed many diverse and interesting characters, both in lead roles and character roles, both in lead roles and character roles, her favourite roles being Rose Arnott – An Enchanted April and Chris Harper – Calendar Girls.
‘For me, community theatre represents the coming together of people of all genders and ages, from all walks of life, backgrounds and orientations, who share one passion … theatre. Community theatre introduces the magic of theatre to old and newcomers without the expense of professional theatre.’ – Yolanda Regueira
